My wife was to fly from jfk to slc on flight 1581 june 29th. She arrived at the airport at 6:00 PM. She waited in line for an hour and a half. When she got to the counter she was told the flight had left. The counter agent was unwilling to help. She called Delta and was hung up on. She called travelocity and was told the flight did not close untill 8:10. She was lied to by the ticket agent. I assume because the filght was overbooked. At this point, both my wife and I contacted customer service on the night she was scheduled to fly. I was continually transfered from person to person, none of which were willing to help or even apologized for our inconvenience. I was told there were no flights available until two days later on sunday July 1st. I checked travelocity online and saw that tickets were still being sold for a flight on saturday June 30th. Then I actually had customer service agent yell at me and tell me my wife should have been there earlier. I know customer service can be a demanding job, but it is their job to fix the problems with services a customer has paid for. My wife had a similar experience. After being on hold for two hours to be told there was nothing that could be done, she went to the service counter one more time. She finally got a woman to put her on standby for a flight the following morning. This was 11:30 pm. She was told she could sleep in the terminal or return at 3:30 AM. There were no services offered to the passengers waiting in the terminal so she opted to return home for a few hours. She arrived at 3:30 am. There were no Delta representatives present at the terminal until 5:00 AM.
