7th level of Hell

My wife and I spent last night in the Atlanta airport with CNN blaring above our heads. Our Delta flight from Seattle to Atlanta was delayed an hour and a half. Then our flight from Atlanta to Asheville was delayed from 10:45 PM to midnight, because they grabbed a plane, pilots, and stewardess at the last minute – didn’t they know this flight was scheduled? We did. The plane had too much fuel on it, so they had to call a fuel truck to take fuel off the plane so more stranded people could fly to Asheville. We got on the plane to learn that the auxilliary air was not working, so they would have to taxi out and basically jump start the plane while the interior of the plane had no air – it got really stale quickly. We taxied out at midnight, sat there half an hour trying to jump start the thing I guess, but a warning light came on that the repeaters (whatever they are) weren’t working – so we taxied back to the gate, called maintenance who (thankfully) came out and was able to fix it – we took off at 1:15 AM, circled Asheville – only to find it fogged in! Didn’t have enough fuel to circle more than twice and (gasp) headed back to Atlanta, arriving to some very surly Delta employees at 2:30 AM. Were rescheduled on an 8:30 AM flight, but had to practically bribe the grouchy mean gate agents for information about our fate. Dozed in and out with CNN blaring above our heads on benches. Our 8:30 flight was of course delayed. They screwed up our tickets and almost kicked us off the flight twice – even though we weren’t the ones who had made the mistake. With Delta – the customer service attitude is “Whatever is wrong is YOUR fault and We could really care less. Actually, we’re just angry that you’re here in our personal space breathing our air.” That’s Atlanta – That’s Delta. Will be avoiding Delta and Atlanta like the plague in the future. I suggest everyone does the same.

— Can totally relate to that one.
