We flew  from charleston s.c. into atlanta intl. 2 hours late on aplril 10 friday. We arrived before 5 p.m. and  had ample time to catch our flight back to san diego yet the flight kept getting more delayed as the evening turned into morning and said flight eventually got cancelled. Planeful of people and not enough hotel room vouchers. Next flight available  was sunday. How stupid are these people for trying to book people on their other full flights instead of just getting everyone on another now delayed plane. Here is a conversation i listened in on between the first passenger to get a”seat request” on the next flight out. delta employee, we have 17 seats available but we oversold by 24 and there are 20 standby requests. so whats the point of issuing a seat request you would not be able to get on anyway. Stupid policy, stupid company and i bet the ceo would never fly his own airline. I hope they go bankrupt and take all their inept employees along with them.
