Last year I flew on Delta from Orlando to Seattle via Atlanta. The trip was so terrible I haven’t flown on Delta since. I was at one time a frequent Delta flyer, however the airline has gone so far downhill I’m looking to use all my miles then stay away for good. On this transcontinental trip the seats on the 767-300 were so uncomfortable I had to get up and walk around every few minutes to keep my body sane. These were Delta’s so called “new refurbished” seats with personal TVs. The PTVs worked only about 20% of the flight both times, plus because they’re touch screen it was 5 hours of the idiot in the seat behind me tapping away. Delta didn’t have the brains to add a remote in the armrest like jetBlue, Continental, American, basically any other airline in the world?

The aircraft didn’t have adjustable headrests in coach or first class and the windows in every row were misaligned so it was impossible to rest your head on the wall next to the seat. No pillows or blankets either, which maybe on a 2 hour flight is understandable but on a transcon? The flight was an hour and a half behind schedule so maybe the decent thing to do would be give the passengers the buy on board food free of charge, or at the very least discounted, but that wasn’t the case either.

If it had only been the one flight that may have been understandable but this is the fourth Delta trip which has played out exactly the same way. On the return flight from ATL to Orlando, I was assigned an aisle seat which wasn’t a big deal but I went to see the gate agent to attempt to change it when she basically dismissed me telling me no more windows were available without even checking in the computer. I proceed to board the aircraft and find out that it was only about half full so there were plenty of every seat type open.

Also, it seems that Delta puts 90% of all passengers in boarding zone 6 as opposed to evenly spacing them out. The other 10% is zone 1 with the 1st and elites, but what about 2, 3, 4, and 5? Of the 15 Delta flights I was sadly on last year, all of them were boarded the same way. Maybe spread the passengers into all 6 zones rather than cram them all into the last one?

It would be wonderful if something would get through to the deadheads running this airline but it seems nothing will. I look forward to not flying on Delta again, and I would advise anyone who wants to have a pleasant experience in a plane to do the same. Delta is by far the worst US airline there is.
