Mileage Plan

Delta Airlines refuses to replenish my mileage account. They said my 41,000+ miles “expired”, without giving me any notice. Don’t think I’ll be supporting Delta Airlines in the future.

The skymiles program is a SELF MANAGED program which has to have some sort of activity one every two years. If you didn’t bother to check on them or used them in that amount of time, Delta figures you don’t want them. $50 will get them back for you.

Delta needs to rethink how they treat their Frequent Flyers as I’ve been a high level FF for many years because I fly out of a city that is a delta hub. They charge for changes to a FF ticket when a change should be easy… I’m not asking for anything unreasonable. it’s simply a computer key stroke to change and the program simply isn’t flexible. I recently booked a FF ticket for my father to visit his ill brother and then I called 2 hours later to change the day of return. Delta charged me $100 for this change of a ticket that was a FF ticket that was booked 2 hours before. I felt like such a special member of the Delta team. NOT.
They don’t even “act” like they care and they don’t really treat FF any different than any other person flying. I recently was late getting to the gate on a flight I fly often, the plane was there but the agent said there was “simply nothing she could do..” She also couldn’t help me get the next flight as I had to go to a bank of phones… have you noticed that they want us to go to phones even if someone is right in front of us that could help if they just had the desire? The phone agent couldn’t do anything but rebook me on a flight for $350 and no I couldn’t fly “stand by” sorry, just nothing they could do… So I booked a last minute flight home on Southwest for $153 and they seemed happy to help me “in person”. Delta airlines suck and they are getting worse. The employees clearly hate the company, they hate the passengers and they simply don’t even try to hide it. It’s insulting and I believe it needs to change and it will.

ON JUNE 2 OF 2010 I CALLED FOR A RESERVATION FROM ALBUQUERQUE N.M.TO PROVIDECE R.I. FOR SOMETIME IN JULY. I WAS QUOTED JULY 3rd WHICH I AGREED TO.I ALSO WANTED TO USE SOME OF MY 43,000 MILES WHICH I PRESUMED THEY WOULD TAKE 25,000.FOR A COACH. UPON ARRIVING HOME ,ON MY NEXT BILLING,THEY TOOK 40,000 MILES AWAY FROM MY ACCOUNT.{ICOULD HAVE FLOWN TO EUROPE FOR THAT !!!!!] WHEN I CALLIED TO REQUIRE,I WAS SWITCHED FROM ONE PERSON TO ANOTHER,THEN HUNG UP ON. I REPEATED CALLING,WHEN SOME VERY RUDE PERSON YELLED SAYING”,YOU TOOK THE FLIGHT DIDN’T YOU” THEN HUNG UP. I HAVE TRIED,BUT THERE IS NO WAY I CAN GET HOLDOF ANYONE AT DELTA.I HAVE DECIDED TO GIVE UP USING MY DELTA CARD,AND WILL TELL MY STORY TO ANYONE WHO MENTIONS DELTA TO ME AGAIN. I AM 87 ,AND IT TOOK MANY YEARS TO BUILD 43,000 MILES,BESIDES PAYING A FEE EVERY YEAR.
