Delta Stole My Laptop

I was flying to Hartford from Denver with a layover in NYC. On my flight from Denver to NYC I asked if there was room for my two carry-on bags as I was getting on the plane (since I was one of the last to get on). They said there should be plenty of room. By the time I got to row 28, (and not until then) they changed their minds. They quickly grabbed my bag from me and then asked where my final destination is. They checked it, lost the bag for two weeks, and when it showed up my laptop was gone. Delta says they won’t cover because it should have been “carried on with me.” There representative was totally unsympathetic and refused to even take a claim. They robbed me blind. I hate delta.

It sucks someone stole your laptop out of your bag. Thieves are everywhere, but as the owner of the valuable object, the impetus to protect the asset is yours. You should have kept the laptop with you. If that was the bag they wanted to check, then you should have taken the laptop out.
Why were you the last one on the plane? If you had gotten on earlier you wouldn’t have had the problem. NEVER let yourself be the one of the last few stragglers onto a plane.
Get to the gate early and position yourself near the gate. As they call zones, let the lower numbered zones ahead of you, but be ready and in position to get on when they call your zone. In this case, your lateness was
