I recently bought a ticket for my mother. Round trip from TPE to MSP through LAX. We put her on a vacation trip which lands her in LAX one day before she is to return from MSP to TPE.

The thought is why have her fly back to MSP then turn around fly back to LAX. Good thing we called them to confirm because it is a fact, “ATLED” SUCKS, so you do not trust them.

We called. To only fly from LAX to TPE, we must pay additional $800 plus $300 change fees on top of $1300 we already paid. Let’s do the math: There will be an empty seat they can resell 3 weeks before the flight, we already paid for original ticket, now we have to pay extra $800 to fly on the same plane which we already had ticket?

We have two choices: pay extra $350 to fly my mother back to MSP; or pay extra $535 to fly her from LAX to TPE on the same plane (China Airline). We paid $535.
