FUMING WITH EVERY KIND OF EMOTION!!!!!!

I live in California (moving with my bf soon). My boyfriend (resides in NY) booked a confirmed flight via expedia.com with Delta (flight 79) for today 2/11/2010 from JFK to LAX returning on 2/16/2010. With 55 minutes left before departure the automated machine gives him a denial alert. So he goes to the Delta counter, they tell him he cannot check in his bag. After 20 minutes of wasted time trying to find a solution about checking in his ONE luggage, they inform him “WE SOLD YOUR SEAT TO SOMEONE ELSE” WTF!!!!! But how nice of them to offer another flight departing on 2/14 but with an additional charge and with the same freakin’ return date. “IF YOU WANT A LATER RETURN DATE IT WILL BE AROUND $1000 DIFFERENCE.” WTF is their problem. Since my boyfriend was extremely tired to argue with them he booked the departure of 2/14 return on 2/16 with an additional $50 fee. So now I’m calling DELTA …. they need to compensate us for our time wasted and extend his return date w/o any fee what so ever! If I do not get anything I will just get a FULL REFUND and never fly delta again!!!!!!!!

So you’re saying that you can show up to check your bag late and it shouldn’t be a problem…? The rules for check-in are on the website… I can understand you’re upset but… In the future I recommend that you try to check in without checked baggage and then bring your bag a carry on… Maybe it would fit… Or… Maybe you would be allowed a plane side check in… As for the fact that his seat was given away… If you don’t check in at a certain time the stand by folks get the seats… Why didn’t you try on line check in? you can do that 24hrs. prior to the flight so all you would have had to do was drop your bags off… (you would alread have boarding passes)
otherwise, not sure what to say…
