Haha! I have experienced with Delta chronic delays. Delta delayed a flight that I supposed to fly to New York. Next gate was American Airlines. The flight is same to New York. The AA flight departed on time!
Delta Airlines failed to depart on time and made excuses.

I asked the DL agent for delay details. He said that DL pilot is hungry and went to dine. OMG!

Uh... Even if you're not going to fly any more paid tickets with delta you should make sure that the give you the FF mile they owe you...

The Y class 50% MQM still exists... And as a Gold you should still get the elite status bonus (I think it's 50% for gold but you should note that the miles bonus for your status are NOT MQM miles, and never were). If you DIDN'T get that you can go to the "contact us" portion of the delta website and request a milage credit... I've never had the milage class credit impropperly but I have had the flight not credit at all and I've never had a problem getting credit when I send an e-mail about the error... (Also, if you do a search on the website for "missing miles" you will get to the web form to request milage credit)

As for a delay... I think you should know that the airline only makes money moving people... Having you in the airplane sitting on the ground doesn't make them as much money as moving you to your destination and then putting someone else on the plane... If you were talking to a FA it's because you were on the aircraft, right...? And you were flying out of detroit... In February or March... Were other flights delayed? What was the weather like? All I can tell you is that the airlne doesn't like to delay a flight because in the end it costs them a lot of money...

Yes, I understand your feelings. Why you choose Delta at first place? Delta is a famous trouble maker #! in customers complaints history and flights disruption history following to federal reports and statistics!!!

Fly with ANA or Singapore Airlines!
