My wife, 5yr old and I were moving from NYC to OC so we booked one way tickets on delta (cheapest) to fly JFK to OC.. we showed up 2hrs before flight time.. busy delta terminal, with bags being checked, i knew trouble was coming.. I immediately told the baggage guy (skycab) whatever you want to call this dick.. “going to john wayne” & our flight number.. he said ” your good, plenty of time” so we waited about 20mins… he then said we were 5mins late to check our bags… which we were obviously shocked by this.. hes been telling us “were good” …and he said plz go inside the terminal and they could accomodate us… as we waited thru a half hour line (now flight leaves in less than 1hr… by the way jet blue is 30mins).. the people in front of us are a family (husband, wife & 3 kids) being escorted out of terminal with the wife screaming “i fucking hate u and i hope u die” should of given me a clue about what was going to happen.. but of course being a successful salesman I figured somehow I could make this happen.. needless to say within 2mins, the woman behind the counter was telling me no flights for two weeks for us unless we wanted to leave our bags behind!! i know that sounds absurd but that is what she said.. “you can fly today but you will never get your bags (no later flights for them) or we could pay $250 each additional and fly 2weeks from then … being a calm american and not wanting to get escorted out or god forbidden arrested for making some kind of mistaken threat I sucked it up and walked out took a cab over to jetblue, booked another flight for the next day verified check in baggage time and had the best flight…they even waited for us to return a rental car… because we already checked our bags… jet blue rules and delta sucks assholes….
